The Harvard Crimson will host its first Harvard Crimson Pre-Collegiate Innovation Conference: Australia in Melbourne CBD from January 6th to January 8th 2020. This conference aims to help ambitious high schoolers advance as leaders, entrepreneurs, and active citizens. Our workshops cover topics ranging from how to approach grey-area decisions, idea generation, and navigating the U.S. college application process.

day 1

This course will help students identify and practice the key characteristics that cultivate and advance entrepreneurs. In particular, our workshops will teach you how to make a business plan, take effective risks, pitch your ideas, and solve business cases. In short, we will help you fine-tune the skill of successfully actualizing a vision.

day 2

This course focuses on the powerful ways in which we communicate – through email, in-person dialogue, or over the phone. How you voice yourself is a critical component of the first impression you make, and of being an effective leader. You will also learn how to apply these skills when resolving conflict, people managing, and making gray-area decisions.

day 3

College applications can seem like a confusing and daunting process; we are here to help provide guidance and answers. Through panel discussions and a Q&A session, you have the opportunity to ask current Harvard students any questions you have. There will also be formal presentations giving comprehensive advice on the various components of the application, from the Common App, to the essays, references, financial-aid, and interviews.
